Freibad Pool Bar
Architectural Scenography x CI

Situated within a public sports complex, the transformation of this dual-season hospitality venue demonstrates a highly responsive approach to spatial layout, contextual views, and adaptive programming.

To maximize views toward the diving platforms and expansive pools, the south and west facades were completely opened with full-height windows, eliminating all past partitions.

Navigating a highly disciplined budget tailored to seasonal use, the design successfully bridges a high-frequency summer pool business with selective winter operations during the ice hockey season. The open floor plan is structurally zoned by a linear sequence of light columns and a flush ceiling-tracked drapery system, allowing for immediate spatial mutation into intimate event séparés using semi-transparent fabrics or linen.

The elongated bar counter anchors the interior, featuring fluidly rounded edges that echo the custom lounge furniture, all unified by a custom-blended luminous turquoise scheme. The seamless gray flooring is engineered with a subtle grain texture to provide necessary slip-resistance for wet-foot traffic while ensuring water impermeability. Facing the adjacent indoor ice hockey arena, a secondary lounge utilizes movable slatted blinds integrated with concealed, indirect linear fixtures to create a precisely dimmable, atmospheric sanctuary that transitions effortlessly from daytime swimming breaks to vibrant evening DJ sessions.
