The story of Nachtstudio began in Munich in 2003. Redefining sleep comfort and designing timelessly stylish collections is the goal of founder Daniel Kronwinkler for this young, innovative brand. Every single product is individually handcrafted in southern Germany after selection, with the sole exception of the cashmere pieces. The label's furniture, bedding, and accessories are meticulously handcrafted in their workshops, each piece personalized to the highest standards.

 

Suzanne Faltenbacher's design for the interior of the nachtstudio flagship store is staged like a stage set.

In the over 4-meter-high space, all forms of finishing are omitted. The untreated rawness of the concrete and building components, with hand-scribbled notes on the walls in a matte gray tone, is a refreshing counterpoint to luxurious store interiors.

 

To achieve the same color and texture for the floor, it is treated using a special process, employing a specially developed recipe for the deliberately matte sealing of the surface.

 

The minimalist architectural language draws attention to the fine, white fabrics of the bed linens and the high-quality, detailed furniture. Featuring minimalist wooden built-ins with matte-finished surfaces in a delicate lilac hue, custom-designed clothes racks made of polished steel, and subtle lighting, the space plays with a deliberately pure and industrial-looking atmosphere.

 

White threads are stretched from floor to ceiling, forming delicate, tall sculptures. This artistic installation of thin lines serves both as the label's corporate identity and as a subtle reference to the fabrics woven specifically for the Nachtstudio collections.

 

The threads are thus reflected in the graphics of business cards and stationery, carrier bags, labels and more.
