MILK BAR 02 BAR
Architecture / Scenography / Light Design

In the summer of 2000, the first milch und bar from 1997 was redesigned by studioacht after 3 years of bar and club nights.
With a very limited budget, the design for the new milk bar is being created in the over 18-meter-high factory hall, which features a massive concrete silo. The exclusively red lighting, a hallmark of the corporate identity created by studioacht. since 1997, is being expanded in the current design to include a vibrant pink light installation.
The funnel-shaped grain silo suspended above the bar is illuminated from within by halogen spotlights behind a plexiglass panel, bathing it in red light. At night, the stainless steel bar reflects the red light, tinting the room red. Another bar area is created behind a softly shaped wall opening bathed in pink light. A 3.5-meter-long sculpture, encased in polished stainless steel, serves as the bar counter in front of this wide opening. A continuous line of light, running across all the walls, consists of light bulbs dipped red by hand.
