The new Milchbar is being created in a former industrial building on the Optimol grounds in Munich. The character of the high-ceilinged hall is being deliberately preserved, including its industrial facade. An old iron door is being restored and will serve as the entrance to the new club. As the two tall, rust-covered door panels open, the first thing one sees is a bright, red-lit glass foyer. A semi-transparent screen-printed coating accentuates the cubic form of the anteroom, and guests are welcomed in red light.

In Milchbar's third project, the bar is once again positioned as the central element of the space. The softly shaped, 16-meter-long bar is made of Corian with gentle curves. The DJ booth, positioned on a platform within the bar, will direct the club's energy throughout the night. The structure is completely free of visible construction joints; no seams or other technical connections are apparent. Many guests at the opening wondered how this monumental bar structure was brought into the space.

The bar is an off-white, while the interior surfaces are a rich dark brown. The ventilation system is concealed behind a wall structure; round nozzles hint at its operation. Part of the wall surface is finished with sound-absorbing panels with rounded edges for optimal room acoustics.

Studioacht is developing a light installation above the bar made of round glass discs, which are penetrated in the inner radius by a continuous line of red fluorescent tubes.
